Sailing on a Corporate Day outside Poole Harbour last thursday, we came across a family of dolphins. They seemed to like our new boats and played with us for a few minutes to the delight of our guests. Fortunately, just for once, I managed to get this lovely shot of Flair V and a dolphin.
This is our latest Elan 410, Esprit, winning in the Solent. Racing in the Warsash Spring Series, she got off to a perfect start by winning her first race. Light winds made for tricky conditions and Esprit managed to bypass the rest of the fleet to take first place in Class 2. Now is the time to make your plans for your 2008 events! As Jim says, "2007 was a fantastic year for Neil and I with 'Spinnaker Yachts'. We have had some wonderful sailing with old friends and new, with everyone wanting to return in 2008. Our second new Elan 410 yacht, Esprit, has now arrived and we have direct access to a further three 410's allowing us to cater for up to fifty guests or more if required. Our first Elan 410, sailing as Premier Flair, has already thrilled the clients that have sailed on her, especially when winning Class Two at The Little Britain Challenge Cup plus seven other top race wins for good measure. These new, exciting and stylish 41 foot boats will give us a new and improved image with the ability to take up to ten guests per Elan 410, though the opportunity to use the Elan 333s, 37s and 40s will not be lost altogether. We firmly believe that Poole Harbour is a very special venue for Yachting and although much of our competitive racing and some Corporate Sailing will be Solent based, our most successful Corporate Sailing Days in the past, and I'm sure in the future, will be based in Poole. The new Yachts are already booked for some of the major race events including Cork Week and The Rolex Commodore's Cup so the calendar is already filling up".
